Congé maternité : 14 semaines dans l’UE, pris par les mères dans les semaines qui précèdent et suivent l’accouchement.
Congé de paternité « peut » être pris par les pères ou « les personnes reconnues comme seconds parents équivalents par la législation nationale » à l’occasion de son enfant: 10 jours à partir d’août 2022.
Congé parental permet selon la nouvelle directive, à chaque parent d’un Etat de l’UE de prendre au moins 4 mois de congés supplémentaires pour s’occuper de son enfant en bas-âge. Ce congé est dans la majeure partie des cas moins rémunéré que ceux de maternité et de paternité.
